Accounting Specialist – Convenience Store Operations

Full-time position based out of Bear Lake, MI

Responsibilities

JOB PURPOSE:

Love details, problem-solving, and keeping things balanced? Join our Accounting team and play a key role in supporting our Convenience Store operations across Michigan!

In this role, you’ll help keep daily transactions accurate, organized, and running smoothly by auditing and reconciling store activity, working closely with store leadership, and helping solve discrepancies when they arise. WHAT YOU BRING:

We’re looking for someone who is organized, dependable, detail-oriented, and enjoys working behind the scenes to help operations succeed.

Qualified candidates should have:

  • A high school diploma or GED
  • Previous bookkeeping, accounting, reconciliation, or office experience
  • Strong attention to detail and accuracy
  • Good communication and organizational skills
  • Comfort working with numbers and spreadsheets
  • The ability to prioritize tasks and stay on top of deadlines
  • A positive, team-focused attitude

WHAT YOU’LL DO:

No two days are exactly the same! Your work will help support store operations throughout Michigan by ensuring transactions are accurate and issues are resolved quickly.

Daily and weekly responsibilities include:

  • Auditing and reconciling store transactions including deposits, fuel, coupons, paid outs, credit cards, and more
  • Reviewing and balancing Michigan Lottery reporting
  • Importing and reconciling fuel Bill of Lading information
  • Comparing sales and payment reports to identify and resolve discrepancies
  • Researching variances and partnering with Store Managers and leadership teams to correct issues
  • Assisting with customer credit card dispute research and resolution
  • Supporting month-end reconciliation and closing processes
  • Maintaining organized records and accounting documentation
  • Processing incoming mail and completing additional administrative tasks as needed
  • Following accounting procedures and completing required company training
