As it was in 1933, Blarney Castle Oil and Propane is a Michigan-based, family-owned business. With more than 130 EZ Mart convenience store locations, propane and fuel oil service, commercial fuel and bulk lubricant sales, our primary goal is satisfying our customers.


An incumbent of this position must possess and maintain a professional business behavior in mannerism and appearance, a positive attitude, a multi-task capability; and high level of computer skills. High school diploma required with prior experience in customer service areas and with the public; three to six months training may substitute for prior experience. 




An incumbent of this position has primary responsibility for customer contacts either in- person, by telephone, facsimile, or e-mail.  Customer contacts involve orders for the  installation, removal and ongoing maintenance of BCOC services, billing, miscellaneous inquiries, and service complaints.  The origination, maintenance, and upgrading of related records are an important function of this position.  The transfer and coordination of accurate, timely information to various work units within BCOC is crucial for the provision of excellent customer service.


Essential Functions and Responsibilities:

Include the following.  Other duties may be assigned.


  • Qualify prospective customers by ensuring that credit checks are completed and verified prior to the delivery of services or product.  Answer and distribute incoming telephone calls;  may share receptionist duties with other CSR’s on a rotating basis.


  • Take customer orders for fuel oil, propane, lubricants, gasoline and diesel products.


  • Follow the order taking process through to final delivery of the product to ensure that customer expectations are met.


  • Review and research problems obtaining necessary information from policies, procedures, practices or company contacts.


  • Informs customers of standard procedures or resolution of a problem.


  • Makes periodic contacts with existing customers to determine satisfaction with the company, products and services.


  • Provide information on and schedule propane tank sets.


  • Provide information to customers and schedule them for various company service plans.


  • Review and understand all present and future customer service programs offered by Blarney Castle Oil Co.
